چکیده مقاله:

During 2010 and 2011, Aspergillus species from section Flavi were isolated from rhizosphere in main peanut-growing region of Iran, Astaneh-e Ashrafiyeh, Guilan Province (northern Iran). The soil samples were taken from fruiting zone of peanuts in 3 districts and 10 locations, during the pod-filling period. The populations of Aspergillus section Flavi showed significant differences in cfu g-1 among sampling locations. Individual assays averaged from 188 and 139 Aspergillus section Flavi population/g soil in two years, respectively. So that, we were unable to detect A. section Flavi on soil dilution plates at greater dilutions (

Colonization of wounded peanut seeds by soil fungi: selectivity for species from Aspergillus section Flavi

Soil is a source of primary inoculum for Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus, fungi that produce highly carcinogenic aflatoxins in peanuts. Aflatoxigenic fungi commonly invade peanut seeds during maturation, and the highest concentrations of aflatoxins are found in damaged seeds. A laboratory procedure was developed in which viable peanut seeds were wounded and inoculated with field soil cont...

Evaluating Aflatoxin Gene Expression in Aspergillus Section Flavi.

The determination of aflatoxin production ability and differentiation of aflatoxigenic strains can be assessed by monitoring the expression of one or several key genes using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). We herein describe the methods for RNA induction, extraction, and quality determination, and the RT-PCR conditions used to evaluate the ability of a given Aspergillu...

Contamination of Stored Pistachios to Aspergillus Section Flavi and Aflatoxins

Background: Contamination of stored pistachio nuts to Aspergillus section Flavi and aflatoxins (AFs) as well as effective parameters on fungal growth and AF production during storage was assayed. Methods: Twenty one pistachio nut samples were taken from some warehouse of Damghan county. Different parameters of storage, including temperature, relative humidity, and pest infestation were recorded...

Variability of aflatoxin and cyclopiazonic acid production by Aspergillus section flavi from different substrates in Argentina.

Aspergillus section flavi strains isolated from peanuts, wheat and soybean grown in Argentina were screened for aflatoxins (type B and G) and cyclopiazonic acid (CPA) production. Aspergillus flavus was the predominant species in all substrates, although there was almost the same proportion of A. flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus in peanuts. Aspergillus nomius was not found. Incidence of aflato...

A Survey on Contamination of Iranian Pistachio Cultivars to Aspergillus Section Flavi and Aflatoxin

Population density of Aspergillus section Flavi in pistachio kernels of Iranian cultivars was studied in main pistachio growing areas of Iran during 2015 to 2017. In order to investigate the rate of contamination of pistachio cultivars to Aspergillus section Flavi and aflatoxins, 13 pistachio cultivars, including Akbari, Kaleh-ghouchi, Ovhadi, Ahmad-aghaee, M...

Study of the genetic diversity of the aflatoxin biosynthesis cluster in Aspergillus section Flavi using insertion/deletion markers in peanut seeds from Georgia, USA.

Aflatoxins are among the most powerful carcinogens in nature. The major aflatoxin-producing fungi are Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus. Numerous crops, including peanut, are susceptible to aflatoxin contamination by these fungi. There has been an increased use of RNA interference (RNAi) technology to control phytopathogenic fungi in recent years. In order to develop molecular tools targeti...
